Hi, I’m a first time poster. I recently found out I was pregnant a few weeks after I stopped taking microgynon30. My first ever pregnancy and I was over the moon. Because it had been 9 weeks since my LMP (last menstrual period) and I just knew by my dates and clear blue tests that I wasn’t 9 weeks pregnant yet, plus no symptoms except sore boobs, I went for an early scan last week. The early scan at a private clinic said I was 6 weeks, measuring 4mm and that there was a heart rate of 140. All very positive and I finally started to believe I was pregnant. However I had cramping and bleeding on and off all weekend and yesterday so I called my doctor who booked me in for a scan at the EPU this week. I couldn’t wait that long so I went back for another scan at the same clinic as before. They said that it had grown to 9mm in the last few days but that it’s heart rate had slowed to 70. This was so upsetting to hear and I just can’t believe that it’s grown so much with such a bad heart rate, the heart rate was upsetting to listen too and it just looked wrong on the screen too. Although the nurse was lovely and didn’t specifically say I was going to miscarry, she was clear that the low heart rate coupled with the cramping and bleeding wasn’t good. I don’t really know why I’m posting this here. Not necessarily looking for false hope, I am trying to be realistic and feel like I need more information. I’ve googled and it says demise is pretty much going to happen. But I just can’t help feeling so sad and sorry for it to think of it’s heart beat slowing down. Also concerned about how long this is going to go on for. I’ve taken the week off work as I teach reception and it’s just not practical to go in but I am bleeding so slowly (only really when I wipe) that I don’t know if having the time off is justified. I’m just looking for any advice or any else’s experiences really to help me know what to expect next. Thank you x
