Missed miscarriage and D&C

I found out at my 12 week scan that I had had a mmc. My options were to go home and miscarry naturally, tablets or surgery.

I went home and after a week with no "movements" I tried the tablets... TWICE! and they didnt work so I was then told I had to have surgery. This was two weeks ago and I am still bleeding (bright red). 1 week after the surgery I passed a huge clot which was the size of my hand.

Has this happened to anyone else? How long does the bleeding last?

Hi, I had the surgery just over a week ago and haven’t had any blood for past two days. I was advised it would be maybe up to ten days/two weeks. However I am sure I was told if I had any clots to contact GP or EPU or the surgery ward. So you may want to speak to someone about the clot in case that is a sign they missed some?

Hi, I had surgery just over 3 weeks ago and my bleeding/spotting has only just stopped. It was quite intermittent and about 3 days post surgery it stopped for 2 days then returned (worse than it was in the first few days post surgery!). Epu advised me that it was normal to have some on and off bleeding for up to 3 weeks but I did get worried when mine continued beyond two. It did gradually tail off though and (sorry tmi) it was mainly really old dark blood after around two weeks post surgery. I was advised that if I was getting any clots to contact them again though so I would maybe get checked out to be on the safe side.
