Missed miscarriage - how long for next period?

Hi

I'm hoping someone can give me advice on my recent missed miscarriage experience. I found out at my 12 week scan that I'd had a miscarriage around 9 weeks without knowing. However I started bleeding the exact night of my scan 4th November and miscarried naturally which lasted 3 weeks all together. I'm wondering when my next period will be estimated?

I've read that it usually takes 4-6 weeks and I know everyone is different but does this mean 4-6 weeks from the start date of miscarriage bleeding (4th nov) or the end (25th) ? I've had no signs of it yet and my usual periods are spot on 28 days. If anyone's been through something similar I'd really appreciate the advice!

Many thanks

Hello. So sorry to hear about your MMC. I had one diagnosed at 9 weeks and got D&C for it at what would be 9+2. So I guess it might be slightly different scenario... but it took 33 days for my period to arrive. Usually my cycles are regular at 28 days too. Take care!

Hi @Tiny20 I'm so sorry for your loss. I've not had a MMC before, but my last miscarriage was at 7 weeks, I got my next period about 5 weeks after the bleeding stopped. As you were further along it might take a little longer.

I hope you're feeling better soon.

@Tiny20 sorry for your loss. I had a mmc and had an erpc. I got af 43 days after my erpc. My cycles after that were all over the place and have only just settled now.

I meant to add that was the start of May.

I'm so sorry for your loss @Tiny20 ❤️ I've had 2 MMCs this year and both times my period came by cd28 from the day I started bleeding (usual cycle is 24-25 days). Hope your not in limbo too long. Be kind to yourself, it's so shitty.

Sending love xx

I'm very sorry for your loss. I was in exactly the same boat as you - found out at my 12 week scan that I'd lost the baby around 9 weeks, and miscarriage started naturally the next day. My next period arrived 46 days after the first day of bleeding. Before the miscarriage, my cycles were 30 days long, and this month they seem to have gone back to that length. Take care of yourself - it is really hard, but you will get through it xx

Thank you all for you quick responses and lovely comments! It's so helpful to know people have been through similar scenarios that can help. It's so hard emotionally without stressing about periods going back to normal so I will wait patiently and hopefully it will arrive soon. I'm going on holiday next week so trying to get prepared if so but it is what it is I suppose x

Thank you all again ❤️❤️x
