Waiting on results for Down Syndrome

Just looking for some help in waiting on results as I’m struggling big time today. Baby arrived after a traumatic birth a couple of weeks ago and doctors suspected Downs Syndrome after physical exam. Currently awaiting karaotype test results and every second feels like an eternity. Anyone been through a similar situation xperience ?
