Positive test and still bleeding 2 weeks after miscarriage

Hello, this is my first time posting and sadly I am posting as I have recently had a miscarriage.
At 10.5 weeks (Tuesday 22nd October) I found out that development had stopped at 7.5 weeks.
A scan was booked the following Tuesday to check but on the Sunday and Monday following I had very heavy bleeding and cramps. Tuesday 29th I had another scan and was told the pregnancy had been passed and I would continue to bleed as lining was still thick.
Week later-Tuesday 5th November I was put on antibiotics as things had started to smell a bit 😫
Wednesday 6th another scan. Told the miscarriage was complete as lining now 10mm and that light bleeding may continue.
It's now another week in, I am still bleeding a little, bit like a light period and did a test today and it was positive. I called my epau and they've advised that I do another test over the weekend and if positive and/or still bleeding/spotting to call up and they will see me again. The actual miscarriage was 2 weeks ago, and I can imagine old blood may smell, it may take a while to all pass and that the hcg hormone may linger, but I wondered if anyone else may have experienced this? Is it "normal"?
I feel like it's a never ending, incredibly sad and scary nightmare.

Hi OP,

So sorry for what you're going through.

I started miscarrying on 31st ( medical management ) and the nurses at my local EPU told me to wait 4 weeks until taking a pregnancy test, I think it can take a while for HCG to leave your system.

The leaflet I was sent home with also says bleeding is to be expected for up to two weeks so I wouldn't worry too much unless the bleeding isn't slowing down at all

Thank you @GoldLeafTree and I'm very sorry to hear you are going through this too.
I will try and relax a bit and hopefully it will soon be over. The bleeding has definitely eased hell off a lot.
I hope you are coping as well as you can.
