Pregnant or Miscarriage - please help!!

Hi Guys,

Looking for anyone who can help me understand what is happening!!

So I’m going through IVF had 1 failed FET on a natural cycle and 1 FET on medication. I became pregnant on the second round and last Monday 4/11 I got a cb pregnant 1-2 week. That night I had terrible pain and light spotting. In the morning I woke up and the spotting had turned to blood and throughout the day progressed to clots. I called the hospital and was told to keep and eye on the bleeding and test again in a weeks times. Tested lasted night and I got a pregnant 2-3 weeks!! I thought I’d lost the baby, have I still lost the baby?? I thought the HCG would reduce, I didn’t expect a 2-3 wk result I thought I’d at least get a 1-2 wk still or maybe even a not pregnant.....please help I’m so confused plus I’m still bleeding after 5 days 🤷🏼‍♀️

I am sorry you are going through this OP. I’ve experienced similar ( twice before with ivf) which sadly resulted in early miscarriage at five weeks. I was advised that in most (not all) viable pregnancies hcg doubles every 48 hours or at least rises by 66 %. I would request a hcg blood test (repeated 48 hrs later) from your GP or fertility clinic to understand what is going on. Take care 💐

@GreyGoose1980 thanks for your reply, my clinic said it looks promising and to test again next week to see if it’s gone up from 2-3 to 3+. I have a scan already booked for 26/11 and been told to keep the appointment as the bleeding seems to have levelled out, plus I’m no longer passing clots so fingers crossed I suppose. I’m prepared for both outcomes it’s just the waiting 😔

So update so far took another test on Monday and it’s still at 2-3 weeks not sure what that means 🤷🏼‍♀️ Clinic said the doctor advised not to get to hung up on the weeks as long as I’m still getting a positive result!! I’m confused I’m being told different, keep and eye on the weeks going down and then don’t worry about the weeks!! 😔

Sorry things are so uncertain - much easier said than done I know but try to stay positive but realistic until your scan on Tuesday. The only thing I found helped me during periods of waiting was to force myself to focus on other distractions to make time pass quicker. obviously if I had pain I’d seek medical advice but otherwise I tried to keep physically busy and see people to distract myself as much as was possible. Thinking of you 💐
