BBT temp during/after miscarriage

Hi all, I am currently going through my second week of bleeding after medical management for a missed miscarriage. On the random days that I have temped recently, they are all over the place - some as low as 36.00 and as high as 36.44

Has anyone else had this experience? My charts are going crazy. I know it could be due to the hormones but I just wondering if I wasn't alone in this x

PS. As a side note, has anyone drank raspberry leaf tea during miscarriage/bleeding/AF and O?

Sorry you are going through this OP. Yes, my charts are the same. I’m now in the second cycle since having a MMC at 13 weeks and my bbt chart is looking like a mountain range! No obvious pattern - temps ranging randomly from about 96.6 to 98. However, both months I have managed to get peak readings on CB ovulation tests. Are you using ovulation tests too? From what I’ve been able to gather by reading up online, temps can be a bit all over the place for the first few months after miscarriage.

I would say if you are still bleeding, and until you get a negative pregnancy test, your hormone levels are likely to be impacting bbt. Fingers crossed they will calm down for you soon!

@bettymoo212 Thank you, I'm sorry for your loss too x we haven't started trying yet as I haven't finished bleeding from the miscarriage yet, but I will use ovulation strips when we start trying again (December/January we think, depending on when AF arrives). Do you specifically recommend the CB ones or do you think I could use the ovu test strips from Amazon? x

Yes, definitely wait until you finish bleeding and you get a BFN before trying again. The CB digital ones are great - they are far less faff than the cheap ovu strips and there is never any confusion about whether or not the result is a positive. However, they are sooooooo expensive. I think I'll switch back to the cheap ovulate strips next month to be honest. I've found them to be pretty reliable. Sometimes I don't get a blazing positive on them but I just use bbt to confirm ovulation.

Thank you so much for your advice @bettymoo212 - I really wish the doctor/EPU would have told me all this as I'm so keen to start trying again ASAP. Do you use an app to track the ovu strips? x

Sorry I meant to say 'track the darkness of the ovu strips' x @bettymoo212

No problem! Yes, I use the Femometer app to interpret ov test results. I got it because I bought the Femometer bbt thermometer from Amazon, although possibly you can download it even if you don’t have the thermometer. I’ve found it to be very accurate and reliable - both for bbt and ov tests. I really like being able to see both bits of information in the same chart. Would highly recommend.

@bettymoo212 thank you so much and sorry for my late reply - will definitely buy them and get the app. I’m still testing positive on pregnancy tests so just waiting and waiting for this all to be over so we can move on and try again! X

Stick in there - I know it feels like it’s taking forever but you will get there soon! Are the HPTs getting paler? It took me about 5 weeks to get a completely negative test but I think most women get one sooner x

danielasummer · 13/11/2019 18:59

@bettymoo212 Bless you, thank you. I only did one HTP and it was weak-ish but still positive - I've inserted a photo. How are you doing? Are you trying currently or just trying to understand your cycle again? My temps have been low which I'm taking as a good sign - 36.15 average over the last few days x
