Miscarriage and hCG

I had a miscarriage (8 weeks preg) confirmed after a scan on 3rd October and regular blood tests also confirmed hCG was dropping. Blood was last tested Tuesday and a nurse called last night and told me I wouldn’t need to have anymore blood tests but she didn’t give me a figure of what the hCG level was. It was about 100mIU/mL the week before. My husband recalls them saying I would be tested until it was 6mIU/mL. Pregnancy tests are still showing strongly positive and Clearblue is showing 1-2 weeks. I tested because I’ve been feeling unusually tired but kids have had a virus so could be that. Does anyone know if they would stop the blood tests before the level would give a negative test?

I'm no expert but saw this unanswered in active. It took 5 weeks for me to get a negative test after my MMC and D&C. I didn't have any blood tests though. I'd have thought the levels dropping were a good sign. Could you ring the EPU for reassurance, or whoever was doing the blood tests?

I was told that a positive pregnancy test at 3 weeks post miscarriage was reason to call the EPAU. I got a negative at 3 weeks 2 days.

The EPAU told me to phone them if I still had a positive test 3 weeks post miscarriage. I do albeit faint. I have to take another test Monday to see if it's negative then. If it is they do t need to see me but they want me in for a check up if it's still positive

Thanks for the replies. I called them and was told it was 36.6mIU/mL on Tuesday. Have had bleeding today so hopefully it’s my period and the level got low enough between last Tuesday and today. Thankfully I have an appointment next Tuesday.
