Which pregnancy to confirm MC?

I won’t go into too much detail but today I found out my hcg bloods had dropped from 46 to 18 so this pregnancy (around 5 weeks) is coming to an end. I was told by EPAC to do a test in a week to confirm MC. However this morning I got a +ve on an FRER (assuming just residual hormones), and the one step ones they used in clinic were negative. So do I test with an IC or frer etc next week? I just want it all to be over so I can continue with ttc. Thanks for reading.

FRER are really sensitive to the point they can detect a level of 6 hcg - id wait a week and try again x

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted would you just use IC. Can’t bear the thought of paying for and using an FRER to confirm I’m NOT pregnant. If you know what I mean. Also would hate to use the FRER and it still have a glimmer of a line.

I'd try the cheap version of FRER - Answer one step I think they are called - they are exactly the same shape as FRER and in fact are made in the same factory but are half the price

I find the IC impossible to read whether it's a BFP or BFN

Or maybe try a Sainsbury/Tesco one
Really it needs to be the same tests though as you've taken to date to be able to compete properly that the line is fainter/turned negative

Hcg has a half life of about 48 I believe so every 2 days it should halve x

@itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted I stopped using the ic’s as I was getting awful indents on them and getting my hopes up.

Ok so maybe I’ll just buy one of those cheaper frer style ones and go from there.

It really makes me think. They say frer can detect 6 days early. But actually if I hadn’t tested with an frer I’d be none the wiser and maybe a little less heart broken.

Unless I’m missing something you will get a bleed and this will signal the end of this pregnancy and the start of a new cycle. So sorry for your loss x

Well I asked the doctor about that and she said I won’t necessarily have a bleed as I had what I thought was af over a week ago which lasted for a day but then my hcg continued to rise.
