How long did your miscarriage last?

Hello. I found out I was pregnant via urine Aug 10. Within a couple days I was spotting and given an ultrasound; they couldn't see the pregnancy but said it was too early. I spotted until Aug 21 when the bleeding became heavy and I had cramping. I went to the hospital and after various tests was told I had a pregnancy of unknown location and was miscarrying. It could have been ectopic but also could have been interuterine. Anyway I bled for about 2 days then spotted. One week later I bled heavily again for about 4 days. I continue to spot and the last couple days my abdomen is tender and I have some cramping. I saw the gyno yesterday and she was not concerned about the tenderness. My HCG levels are continuously dropping but I have to get blood drawn weekly until I'm below 5 - right now I'm at 190. This just feels unending and I wanted to know if anyone else experienced this. Thank you

I’m so sorry this happened to you! I don’t know much as I’ve only recently had a miscarriage myself for the first time, but mine did go on quite badly for 8 days. My doctors didn’t seem too phased about the length of time it was taking only that if I started to show signs of infection (vomiting, fever) then that would be something they would be concerned about. They should offer you a scan soon to make sure the area has been cleared or to offer other options- I’m sure they can offer a certain medication that spurs a miscarriage on , to speed up the process so it’s definitely worth looking into, they gave me the other scan for 7 days after my miscarriage to make sure it was clear.
Sorry again ❤️❤️

Thank you for your reply. I asked if I would need another ultrasound and the doctor said no. I am going to wait until my levels are lower and ask again especially if my symptoms don't go away. They keep saying my levels are going down nicely and haven't offered anything to speed things up. Since this is my first time I don't know much so appreciate your suggestions. Sorry to you as well
