How long for Misoprostol to work?

The nurse inserted it at 3:30. I've had slight blood loss but no cramping. I've to take another two tablets in an hour.

Can anyone advise of their experience of this? I really want to avoid a d&c so I hope it works.

Hi,

I'm really sorry to hear your going through this. Unfortunately I had a similar thing in October last year and had the pessary twice. I can't confirm it was exactly the same medication but I'm guessing it it. Neither time worked for me and I ended up have a MVA which I was awake for. However I didn't have any bleeding at all so hoping you might be different. Have they told you to go back in a few days if nothing happens?

@CasualChocolate oh no, that's awful it went on so long for you.

They've told me to ring back if it's not done within 48 hours. I hope things start working soon. This is just my luck 😞

43 hours later and slight cramping and 2 clots but nothing. This is so cruel.

I had a dream last night there was a dead stork at my friends work and no one had removed it. They were all just ignoring it.

I just want this to be over.

I'm so sorry,

I'd ring them tomorrow and ask to be seen again. Ask what other options you have, from finding out to have the mva was 10 days for me and I'm sure I went in 4 times as nothing was happening.

What's an mva?

Sorry just seen you message.

It's similar to a d and c but your awake. It's slightly less invasive and obviously your not having an general so recovery can be quicker. This it depends how far gone you were though. I had a missed miscarriages so thought I was 11 weeks but actually on managed about 8 and my hospital offered it.

Thanks @CasualChocolate , it passed naturally today. I am so relieved!
