I miscarried at 6/7 weeks in April, and now it seems it's happening again. I'm having painful cramps and quite heavy bleeding. I'm 40 and really wanted to get pregnant with our 2nd this year. It's just so crushing. Any happy stories out there? Should I see the GP? I'm very lucky and have a perfect little girl (21 months) but I'm worried time is running out for me to give her a sibling. Love and hugs to all experiencing pregnancy loss.

I'm sorry OP. I was exactly the same, 2 early miscarriages in a row, previously healthy pregnancies. No one wanted to help until I'd had another but I wasn't prepared to wait to go through it again, so I did lots of research and tried taking a baby aspirin each morning plus a vitamin B complex tablet. I fell pregnant again. He's 8 now. I'm not condoning doing the same as I did, but I'm convinced that he wouldn't be here if I hadn't.

@Hotpinkangel19 thank you! I've heard that baby aspirin helps. I should probably speak to the doctor but I haven't found them mega-helpful in the past. It's stupid but I don't want them to dismiss me and make me feel worse. So glad you overcame!

They refused to help me. Once I was pregnant and I had a early scan, I told them what I had done. I hope you get your much wanted baby, good luck! X

Honestly it will be nothing you’re doing, it will be your age and the quality of the egg. I had three miscarriages in between my two children. Two early ones, one MMC and I ended up at the recurrent miscarriage clinic. My wonderful consultant let the tissue from the third miscarriage go for testing and the baby was found to have Downs. She explained that the majority of miscarriages are down to natural selection and issues with the developing pregnancy.

I eventually fell pregnant with DS2 at 40 and everything was fine. He was perfect.

Keep going, the odds are currently very much in your favour. Falling pregnant is the most difficult part of this process, and you are falling pregnant.

Just wanted to thank you both for responding. You're very kind and I'm feeling much more positive now. X
