Low heart beat - how long until I miscarry?

Hi everyone, I'm 7 weeks and had a scan this morning and there was a slow heartbeat (bradycardia). The dr said it might be fine but most likely to miscarry. Has anyone else had this and know how long it takes until you start to miscarry? If it's going to happen I just want it to happen now. Also, does it hurt?

I’m so very sorry you are going through this. It’s so stressful. Is it a natural pregnancy? Hopefully your dates are a bit out and the heartbeat will catch-up and all will be well at your next scan.

However just incase, (and we are IVF so we always know dates for definite) I had the same thing, flickering slow heartbeat at 7 weeks. I started bleeding and had a complete miscarriage a week later. I was quite surprised as i had another pregnancy with no heartbeat at 7 weeks and it took weeks for the miscarriage to start. I think unfortunately there are no set time scales.

My miscarriages at 7 weeks have been horrible but not too painful - heavy cramping for around 12 hours, passing clots. Really unpleasant but the pain is short term.

Again so sorry you are having to go through this uncertainty, and fingers crossed it turns out to be a false alarm. All the best.

Didn't the doctor ask you to come back to see how things are? Do you know what the heartbeat actually was?

@user1471478601 thank you for your reply! Oh I hope it doesn't take weeks, if it's going to happen I really hope it does soon. I feel like waiting is the worst part. We're not IVF but I'm reasonably sure of the date, at least within a few days and dr thought the size was consistent with 7 weeks

@JoJoSM2 hi JoJo, they are going to scan me again next week. She didn't write down the no. beats but said well below the expected 100. Have you had experience of this too?

@user1471478601 also, have you gone on to have more pregnancies? I hope they were ok

Oh... well below 100 does sound like there's basically no hope Sad I haven't got the experience but I read research papers when I was in early pregnancy. I have had a miscarriage very recently, though. Basically, it looked like there was no hope at the first appointment but I was told to come back a week later as they only diagnose officially the second time. I never made it to the second appointment as I started bleeding a lot and ended up in hospital having a D&C. As far as I know, at the second appointment you can get a diagnosis and further options will be discussed with you (i.e. waiting for things to happen or getting help in hospital).
