Chemical pregnancy? So confused!

Hi all,

I came off the pill 3 months ago and my cycles are all over the place but according to the date of my LMP I’d be 5 weeks pregnant.

5 days ago just after when I should get AF I had several faint BFPs including a Clearblue digital showing 1-2 weeks, sore breasts and feeling bloated. I started light cramping and spotting red 4 days ago and the BFPs are becoming very faint or BFNs, the sore breasts are virtually gone now.

I think this sounds like a chemical pregnancy but I haven’t had anything more than spotting and I feel so uncomfortable.

I’m guessing from the spotting and BFNs that this is a chemical pregnancy but I keep reading that there would be heavy bleeding. I’m feeling so tired and bloated that I just want this over now so I’m not sure what to do.

Any advice or ideas what might be going on? x

Sorry for your situation Flowers I’ve had 3 chemical pregnancies (bfps lasted only for a couple of days before bleeding started) and my bleeding was just like a normal period for me which is pretty light anyway.

Hi sharkgym,

I’ve had nearly the same experience. My cycle is all over the place, had a few 1-2 weeks on clear blue digitals and even confirmed by my GP and was waiting for the midwife to get in touch! I’m sure I had pregnancy symptoms (tired, pulling in stomach) then a week later i re-test and it’s negative! I’ve even been back to the doctors and bloods confirm I am not pregnant. I haven’t had any bleeding what so ever so I’m confused too!

I can totally relate to the tired and bloated feeling, I just want my body to go back to normal Sad

Sorry I’ve got no answers or advice for this, I just wanted to let you know that you’re not the alone xxx

Hi!

I'm sorry you had to go through this. I'm just wondering what was the out come and how are you now? Xx

I can't give any answers. But recently I had a BFP and started bleeding a few hours after. For the 2 weeks following this I had tonnes of positive test results so I thought I was fine.

My friend had bled all through her pregnancy so I knew it could happen.

At around 7/8 weeks I started bleeding again. I booked an early scan and they couldn't find anything. I did a test and it came out negative. This was after a very clean positive test 4 days earlier.

I went into the early pregnancy unit local to me, they did an internal scan and there was no evidence of a pregnancy. Their best guess was that I had miscarried during my first bleed & that I was now on my period.

They had no idea why the tests kept coming up as pregnant for so long. I had all the symptoms, I could hardly drink coffee without feeling sick. But unfortunately it was not to be.

I felt fine for a few days but now i've almost broken down. I'm so tired and stressed out. I think it must be a delayed reaction to the news, which I took very well at the time.

I can't offer any answers, but I can let you know you are not alone. My advice is to look after yourself, I didn't and I am paying big now. Sending big hugs.
