First miscarriage, anyone had surgical management at 8 weeks?

Hi I’ve just found out my pregnancy hasn’t developed, I’m kinda leaning towards surgery management for the reason i don’t want to see/feel and wait around for the pain, I was only 8 weeks when the pregnancy stopped developing and should have been 11-12 weeks now, I guess because I’m early I feel bad for wanting that as there’s not much to empty? Thank you

I'm sorry for your loss. The reason for the surgical management isn't connected to what you have to lose, I would say, but the fact that your body isn't rejecting the embryo itself and hasn't for a few weeks - so the surgery would draw a line under it and you could (begin) to move on. I had this at about 8 weeks, I had a general anaesthetic and other than feeling exhausted after I don't remember much pain. You will still bleed afterwards. I was home the same day. Best of luck OP.

@Iggi999 thank you for sharing and I’m sorry for your loss also, I have to go back tomorrow for scan as the sonographer didn’t have a second opinion and will discuss my options with the EPAU after, I’m leaning towards surgical but wasn’t sure if that was for more advanced pregnancies x

If you have the option go for surgical
I had to wait for it to pass and it's very painful and in the end some tissue remained do I still had to get a dnc
The whole thing was spread out over 3.5 weeks

I much preferred surgical management to natural. And again, had to have intervention following natural. If your centre offers manual vacuum aspiration that's like surgical management just under local anaesthetic rather than GA and I found that more preferable. But very few centres offer it.
Sorry for your loss x
