Bleeding experiences

Sorry this is a bit tmi but I am 1 week post miscarriage and my bleeding is actually getting heavier and brighter red in colour (I.e. very fresh blood). Has anyone else had a similar experience? I know everyone is different but what has your bleeding been like?

Firstly, so sorry about your loss.
I bled for 30 days (bright red the whole time) and it became heavier and I felt worse during the first week than the initial first day and main passing of the pregnancy. I was shocked with the amount of time and heavy blood loss. (I was flooding maternity pads and passing quite large clots also). By day 26 it started to lighten, but then had one last heavy flow return for a couple of days and then it just stopped like a light switch.
Make sure you go to your GP. Mine was supportive. Testing for deficiencies, no issue getting a sick note from work etc. I developed an infection during that time also and had to have antibiotics, so I spent more time at the GP for this than I have in the last 10years!
I don’t mean to worry you, just reassure you, as I could have done with knowing that some people bleed for much longer. Most articles I research just talked about 7-14 days.
I hope it stops soon for you though.

They may want to check for ‘retained products’ which can cause bleeding to continue. (I read that even if a small bit is left inside, your body may think that it’s still carrying a pregnancy).
Please go and get checked incase.
Xx
