When to start OPKs after a miscarriage?

We have just lost our first baby.

I want to know when I am next ovulating as my husband and I are keen to conceive again. Usually the day you start OPKs is based on your last cycle, but of course my last “cycle” is pregnancy and then miscarriage.

I know when I ovulated during the month I fell pregnant. Should I start the sticks maybe five days before that CD?
Or should I start them a week after the bleeding stops?

The midwife said we could try whenever I felt ready, but most people wait for a period after their miscarriage. I want to track my ovulation before my next actual period.

I'm sorry about your baby. Your plan sounds ok, but there isn't really any predicting it - which is why many people wait for their next period. Sometimes you need a bit of emotional space too. But I do understand the need to get back on it, so to speak. Hope things go well for you in the future.
