Miscarriage and first period

Hi everyone I had a miscarriage and d&c 6 weeks and 3 days ago. I started my period on Thursday but by yesterday (Sunday) it had stopped. Is this normal? I was told that the first period would be really heavy and probably last longer. But it wasn't massively heavy and lasted 3 days. I want to try for a baby but I have no idea if my cycle has returned normally now.

My first period after my miscarriage at 5.5 weeks was no different from my normal periods. However ever since my miscarriage my cycles have been all over the place but they were regular like clockwork before.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I am so worried that there's something wrong with me as normally my period would last 5/6 days. I'm sure it's normal for your periods to be a little off for a while. It's just so hard. Bitter sweet having a period at all. Hope you're okay. X

Hi, I had a mmc (at 12wks) in May. I started my first period 4 weeks later and bled for 11days and it was mostly brown spotting, nothing really majorly heavy. Not like my normal at all. So think it just takes the body a while to adjust, Ive just start doing ovulation test and I’m hoping I’ll get a positive in the next week or so but who knows.

I was the same. Found out I'd miscarried on May 7th. I was 12 +2. So I know exactly how you feel. I'm so sorry this happened to you too. I'm going to start doing ovulation tests and just hoping that something will happen soon. Praying for us both ❤️

How did you get on. I’m waiting for second AF to turn up now! Think I had a positive ovulation on the 4th but only gave it one shot so not expecting anything plus it was a cheapy one so might not even have been positive 🙈

Thank you @Bumpingalong84 ! How are you feeling? I'm exactly the same. Using cheapie ovulation tests and have a quite strong one on the 4th too! So it's just a waiting game now. Fingers crossed for us 🤞💋

This is the app I use @Bumpingalong84 blue shows fertile days and red shoes AF. it's called flo I really recommend
It it seems to be accurate for me anyway and I got pregnant straight away using it last time! An add your symptoms, when you do the deed and add when you do tests too! I did an ovulation test on the 3rd as that was when it predicted but then changed to the 4th as that's when it was strongest. We gave it out best shot anyway 😂🤞

Ahh on the same day then @eastview! We didn’t cover the week so I’m not feeling hopeful but I’m ok with that. I’m having some brown spotting again so hoping AF is on the way and it’ll be more like a normal AF as last one wasn’t.

I’m feeling ok about everything really. Hard to think should have had 20wk scan by now! But I have a 3 yr old DD and we were fortunate to fall pregnant easily so I’m hoping it’ll happen again quickly.

This is the stick I had on the 4th! It’s the strongest i’d had. We only did it that night so like I say not holding out much hope. But once AF arrives I’ll try the clearblue sticks again this month

Exactly 6 weeks after my D&C (last week), I started spotting - very light bleeding, didn't need to use more than about 2 pantyliners a day which is very unusual for me as I usually get proper bleeding for 3-4 days. I spotted for around 4-5 days before the real bleeding came, but this only lasted tor one day.

Prior to this I ovulated (used OPK), but we didn't try as the Dr told me I still had blood clots (when she scanned me 2 weeks ago) and to hold off 1 period.

I'm now really confused whether this bleeding was 'enough' to shed everything as I've never had period this light before?! So confused 😐 going back for another scan this week to check how it looks like and will be devastated if the Dr says clots still in there as I'd likely need another d&c then 😔

Oh and oh I was 9 weeks when I miscarried I'd that helps (D&C almost 4 weeks later, so this process has been so long 😥)
