HELP!! What the hell has just fell from me?!

HELP!!

I have just returned home from work and something very hard, brown/red colour the size of a 10p has just fallen into my knickers?!

To give you some background I miscarried back in Feb this year and since then I have had 2 rounds of medical management and I had my D and C 5 weeks ago. 2 weeks after my D and C we started ttc again as the bleeding stopped. Since then, over the weekend I got my first period which was VERY painful and fresh red bleed. I am now still spotting but today, something as described above fell into my knickers. The only way I can describe it is like a ball made out of elastic bands, it was the size of 10p approx and red/brown in colour.

I have just phoned the GP who said it could be anything.. they wouldn’t know unless they checked it out (it is now flushed down the loo) but my god, I’ve never seen anything like it! - it looked old too if that helps? Like it’s been sat in my cervix for months.

Anyone help?!!!

Blood clot? If it’s brown then it’s old
Blood so probably will look very odd.
I had clots come away after the birth of my daughter and found it horrible and hard to believe that it had come out of me.

@butterflybitch

I am swaying more to a blood clot but I’ve never experienced one like it! There usually soft and gooey.. this was rock hard??!

I know exactly what you're talking about OP, I had exactly the same and freaked - it was like a piece of meat! (TMI sorry!) I probably should have gone to the doctors but didn't and was fine. Might be worth a vist though if you're worried

Haggisfish · 19/06/2019 18:34

Could it be like a scab that came away from d and c?

Lea89 · 19/06/2019 18:36

@AnduinsGirl did you?? It was like all shrivelled up but really hard!

I mean, I feel fine in myself but I’m just worried/curious to see if anyone else has experienced this?

Lea89 · 19/06/2019 18:37

@Haggisfish I didn’t know you can get scabs from a DNC??

Could it be a uterine caste? Maybe Google it and see if it looks the same.

Surfingtheweb · 19/06/2019 18:44

This happened to me. I had a period, no bleeding for 2 days then went to the loo and wiped & a big lump came out, big, almost golf ball size, reddy brown & very firm. It freaked me out!! I have not to my knowledge been pregnant this year, actually had no periods for many months & this was only the 2nd or 3rd since late last year.

cherryblossomgin · 19/06/2019 18:45

Ive had a clot like that a couple of years ago, it looked like a big brown/red blueberry. I was totally freaked out by it.

Lea89 · 19/06/2019 18:46

@decomposingcomposers

I’ve just taken a look.. wow those images are graphic!! I’d say it looked like one of them yes but most of the looked soft and wobbly.

There was one picture where it was similar in looks but mine was round.

What are they??

They fished around in my womb recently and found a calcified pregnancy. That was hard, and small. Either it hadn’t progressed far or it had been mainly reabsorbed.

CMOTDibbler · 19/06/2019 18:57

I had a bit of retained placenta after I had ds, and when that finally came away 12 weeks later it looked really odd and shrivelled/hard

DecomposingComposers · 19/06/2019 19:16

@Lea89

It's the lining of the uterus that is shed in one go. It's also called a decidual cast. It happened to me once and it freaked me out - it was the same shape and size as a uterus, for a minute I thought mine had fallen out! I didn't need any treatment or anything but it might be worth seeing your GP just so that they can check you over, especially as you had a D and C recently.

Lea89 · 19/06/2019 19:32

@decomposingcomposers

The only thing is, mine wasn’t the shape of a uterus as it says they are? So not sure if it is this. Already spoke to the GP and she said she can’t do anything unless they tested it, but they cant because I flushed it!

I feel fine. I might see how I get on over the next few days and keep an eye on my bleeding xx

DecomposingComposers · 19/06/2019 19:35

I don't think it has to be - it's just that mine was. I think you can get a bit if it but I'm not sure. I hadn't heard of it before it happened to me so I only know what happened in my case.

The bleeding stopped really quickly and I had no treatment for it or anything.

Good idea to just keep an eye on everything and see how it goes.

Lea89 · 19/06/2019 19:42

@decomposingcomposers was yours after a miscarriage? DNC? X

slipperywhensparticus · 19/06/2019 19:45

You didn't have a cool fitted did you?

Lea89 · 19/06/2019 19:54

@slipperywhensparticus

Cool? Do you mean coil? If so, no I’ve never had one x

@Lea89

It was during an early miscarriage, but I didn't know that I was pregnant. Was bleeding really heavily but thought it was just a heavy period and then I passed it. GP sent it off to lab and they identified it and diagnosed a miscarriage too.
