Hi girls
I'm 23 and really would like some advice from anyone who has experienced an early miscarriage.
Long story short -
I hadn't had a period for 7 weeks, I took multiple preg tests during this time and all came back negative. 4 weeks ago I then suddenly felt very sick, headachey, light headead, bad cramps, then bled for 3 days. I just thought it was my period and thought it was so painful because it was so late. Because I felt so out of it I don't really remember it but my husband says it was very heavy, alot more blood than normal (more clots) (sorry for the detail!!). During this week after "what I thought was my period" had finished bleeding, my doctor said I could start taking my contraceptive pill again. This is the first time I had started taking it in two years, I had come off it two years ago but decided to restart it to regulate periods.

Anyway, after all this, so for the past 4 weeks I have felt very nauseas, headaches every day, very very lethargic. Very unusual at me, I normally wake up easily and have lots of energy. But I've felt so unwell and so unlike myself that I thought something was wrong.

I told my doctor all this and she said just to come off the pill for a week to see if that's the problem.

I had a friend who went through exactly the same as I and she had miscarried early. So I'm scared I've done the same but my doctor won't help me ?? My emotions are so up and down and I just want to know if anyone has had the same issues? Or think this sounds like a miscarriage??

Sorry it's so long. I thought more detail would help find an answer!!

Thanks girls xxxxxx

It's unlikely, but you will never know. I would try to put it out of your mind, easier said than done, I'm sure. No-one here will know for sure either. If you had all those negative tests I would say it's very unlikely.

I'm sorry that you've felt so unwell. I'm pretty sure your pregnancy tests would have come back positive if you were pregnant. I hope you're feeling better soon xx

So even though my friend was identical to me but had a miscarriage, I definitely didn't? I just find it odd and I'm angry at my doctor for not even wanting to give me a blood test to even find out if it was a possibility. One in four women experience this so I think it's only fair when a women is worried about it the professionals actually do their jobs.

No-one is saying you definitely didn't. The unfortunate fact is that there is no benefit in knowing whether you had a miscarriage or not (apart from the psychological benefit). According to the tests you weren't pregnant. The health professionals would not be interested at this stage, because as you so rightly say, early miscarriage is very very common. Easy to say, but try & put it behind you. I'm not sure any tests the GP could do would tell you anyway.
