MMC at 8+5

I had a scan yesterday at 8+5 which showed a fetus measuring about 5 weeks. I have to go back next week but I know in my heart it's another MC.

If this already occurred 3 weeks ago does anyone know how much longer I would likely have to wait for an expectant MC? I have had no bleeding or cramping at all. The midwife only referred me to EPAU because of previous MCs which all happened naturally

Thanks

Hi lovely, so sorry to hear you're going through this. I guess it depends on each individual scenario but I would imagine being that many weeks, that if the scan confirms what you suspect, that things should have happen naturally by 12 weeks. I only say that as at my appointment on Monday just gone when they were going through the options with me after confirming a missed miscarriage (I was 9+6), I asked how long it was likely to take if I did go down the natural route. The nurse said something about the placenta taking over at 12 weeks at which point your body would realise things weren't right. Sorry that's not a very good explanation. I decided on medical management as I couldn't bear to wait any longer due to personal reasons. As it happens I only got as far as taking the progesterone blocker, then had the miscarriage the next day before I was due to take the next lot of meds which makes you miscarry. Although I has started mild cramping the day I went in for the meds and had very light bleeding.
Thinking of you and hear if you want to talk x
