Trying again after miscarriage

Hi everyone,
I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks about four weeks ago now. I haven't had another period yet but pregnancy tests are negative so my hormones are apparently levelled out now.
I turn 36 in July with no children yet so really not wanting to delay it any more than we need too.
It was an early miscarriage, so after the initial grief, we got our heads around what happened and we tried to think more positively about the fact that we CAN get pregnant and that it only took two months.. so emotionally we now feel ready to try again.

I would love to know how long you waited before trying to conceive again and any stories you'd like to share.
Many thanks!

Sorry for your loss @cornishTJ. I had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks. We were given the go ahead to try again after a scan showed it was complete (didn't need to wait for first period).

My cycle has gone back to normal quickly and I've had 2 periods since and no luck so far. We're having fertility investigations so not able to try this cycle due to a hsg test. But I became totally consumed by ttc this cycle, so am seeing the forced month off as a positive to give myself a break.

Hope you don't have too long to wait for your rainbow 🌈 x

Hi @cornishTJ, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Flowers

I had a TFMR 11 weeks ago and I'm now currently around 8 weeks pregnant again. We were shocked at how quickly we conceived considering I hadn't even had a period after the induced miscarriage. Its been hard emotionally and I'm constantly wracked with worry, but at the same time I'm so grateful to have this second chance.

If you feel ready to try again then go for it, I'm wishing you lots and lots of luck. 🤞🏻

Hi Cornish, I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been through something similar to me. I’m going through a miscarriage at the moment, my second. I had a mmc 3 months ago and needless to say was shocked and delighted we fell so quickly this time round. That turned quickly to horror and almost disbelief that it could happen for the second time in a row, when I started spotting 4 days ago and there was nothing to show on a scan for what should be a 6 week pregnancy. I’m dying to ‘get back to it’ but terrified that I’ll never have a successful pregnancy again never mind an enjoyable one :( I do have one daughter who’s 2 next week and it’s the only thing keeping me going.
I’ll be trying as soon as my body sorts itself out, it only took 7 weeks from my first mc (when I had a d&c) to conceive this one so fingers crossed it’s as quick for you (and me next time!) xxx

So sorry for your loss, I'm in a similar position, I'm 38 but have a 2.5 year old DS. I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks in March and waited for a full cycle because it took a long time for my hormone levels to regulate so only just back to actively TTC since May. Feeling pretty gutted today as my period has just started so this time was unsuccessful.
All the advice I've read says that as soon as you feel physically and emotionally ready you can just go for it.
Fingers crossed for all of us!

Hi ladies, I'm so so sorry for your losses. I lost my first pregnancy at 8+5 weeks last year after about 7 months of trying, I'm 37 and was devastated. We were referred for fertility check ups but decided to wait a couple months before actively trying again - personally just to let my hormones and emotions to settle down. I still tracked everything (periods, ovulation, dtd) and logged it on an app to work out my cycle and if it had settled down and/or changed. I was told that you can be extra fertile for about 6 or so months after you fall pregnant - even if you sadly MC - something about residual good fertile hormones. Well, we fell pregnant after 2 months of carefully timed nookie - we were thrilled and shocked to fall pregnant so quickly the second time - and we are now 26 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby. I really hope you all get your BFPs soon and rainbow babies, sending love to you all. xx

Hi everyone,
Thought I'd let you know that after trying again for a few months we are now 6 weeks and five days pregnant. Around 4 months ago we miscarried at 6 weeks 2 days so very anxious about it happening again. Every time I go for a pee (which is a lot at the moment!!) I'm looking out for blood on my tissue. Not healthy to be almost expecting it is it. 😕
Feeling a lot more 'pregnant' this time though and finding the exhaustion a big shock. Started to get mild nausea in the past few days and swollen breasts. All good signs I hope!!
Good luck to all of you too x
