6w Miscarriage Confirmed

Hi All,
I'd be 6w and 5 d and The EPU confirmed today that after getting strong positive tests at the weekend they are now negative, I must have miscarried, so they didn't bother doing the scan I went for.

I have been only very lightly bleeding brown and red since Friday, just when I wipe. No pain, no cramps.

Is this how it will continue? Or should I, now my levels are dropping, expect to start bleeding heavily. I have had a few clots but no big bits of tissue. I'm wondering if I should go back to work tomorrow or if I should be resting or what really?!? I don't want to go back to work if I'm about to pass something horrific, I'd rather be at home for that.

I should have asked the nurse all of this 😕

So sorry for your loss. I've had 3 at about that gestation. One was just a slow loss of blood over a week or so, the other two were more dramatic in terms of clots etc. You sound as if you're experiencing the former. Hope you have some RL support today.

PS I went back to work as it distracted me!

Your test was negative? I miscarried two weeks ago at 6.3 and still have positive tests.
I'm so sorry that you are going through this it's awful

@disconnecteddrifter

Apparently so - they did admit that their tests are not as sensitive as some of the high street ones.

I tried with one of my cheap one step tests after and that still had a line but it was fainter than the ones at the weekend and yesterday, so I'm pretty sure it's ending...
Apparently how HCG rises and falls is hugely variable between women - but I'm no expert Smile

@disconnecteddrifter

I have to say, you piqued my interest about tests being negative already. So I took another cheepy stick test just with a held wee and that one looks as positive as the one did on Friday last week.

I'll have to keep an eye on it and see how it fades.... I want to see a negative test of the same type before we try again.
