Periods after TFMR

Hi,

I'm just after a bit of advice. I gave birth to my son 27.03.19 at 22 weeks, my baby was diagnosed with acc and ventriculomegaly. I have since had my first period 26.04.19 and have come on again yesterday just 14 days after my first period. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm feeling slightly concerned

Thanks in advance
Sam x

I had a TFMR in January and had very irregular periods for the first three months afterwards. Varying lengths with unusual spacing. They did settle back down by month 4.

I am so sorry for your loss x

I'm so sorry you are in this situation. Like peamad I had a tfmr in January, and found my first few cycles very irregular. If you are concerned please speak to your GP or foetal medicine midwife.

The ARC-UK helpline and forum is great for practical info and emotional support around tfmr.

I know this is old. But I had a tfmr in June. Bled for 6 weeks. The last week of that was very heavy. But nothing since. And it's been over a month. Taken a test but it's negative. Is it fairly normal to have mad cycles after?

Yes. Unfortunately it is really common for your cycle to be all over the place after any type of pregnancy loss whether natural, medical or TFMR.
My first loss I took the medical route and had a similar experience to you. The last week-10 days was very heavy bleeding and was, infact, my period. My next cycle was then slightly longer (5 weeks) and then back to normal the following cycle.
After my TFMR my cycles got back to normal immediately.
It just varies case by case.
I'm so sorry for what you are going through, I know it really doesn't help with your mental recovery when it feels like your body is not working with you.
Take care of yourself Flowers
