Hi,

How long did it take everyone to get their periods after ectopic surgery?

I'm six weeks post operation today and still no period.

Hi I had a withdrawal type bleed 3/4 days after surgery where I passed the deciduous caste (uterine lining) all in one go and then my periods went back to being regular 5 weeks after that give or take a couple of days

Have you had the post surgery bleed?
If not I would speak to your doctor about taking something to restart them?
If you have maybe give it a couple more weeks x

Hi, thanks for replying.

I'm not totally sure but I did have a hugeeee bleed that went on for 11 days before I had surgery and then did carry on bleeding after surgery too but they told me that wasn't my first period? I've now come on yesterday but it's really light? What was your first " real" period like. I'm really not sure what I should be expecting xx

I didn't bleed before surgery as my levels were so high before rupture (5000) but sounds like that was the shedding of your lining.

My first proper period was pretty heavy for me and then settled down afterwards x

Oh really that's really odd then because mine was hcg 11 thousand and kept doubling! How odd. Thank you! It's started to become heavier now so I'm guessing it's sorting itself out.

Have you had any luck since your ectopic? Sorry you had to go through it, so rubbish isn't it Sad

My ectopic was January 2018 - because they tried to treat it first with methotrexate but it failed and I ruptured anyway we weren't allowed to ttc for 3 months minimum as it's a horrible drug to have in your system.
Began ttc in April 18 and gave ourselves 9 months before deciding to move on to IVF.
Had one cycle of ivf which failed in March (but have 2 embryos frozen for another transfer) and then to our huge surprise got a natural BFP last month. Unfortunately I've just miscarried that pregnancy but it's the closest we ve been in over a year so going to start trying again straight away.
I lost my left tube but my right side is the more dominant ovary - I ovulate on that side about 70% of the time so pretty depressing that it's taking so long x

Oh bless you, certainly been through it! I was about this say, defo start trying asap because your so much more fertile.

Before my first misscarriages it took me 18 months to conceive and then I miscarried but fell pregnant straight away!!! The month after! They say your very fertile after a misscarriages and sometimes your body " knows what to do now"

But they do believe I have an underlying issue so don't let it dishearten you that I had a miscarriage straight after . A friend of mine had all these problems and then had misscarriage, fell pregnant straight away and now has a gorgeous little girl ! Xxxx
