16 weeks pregnant, bleeding and sore. Only option miscarriage?

I'm 16 weeks pregnant and I had brown blood a few days ago. Then a day of nothing but have now been bleeding red blood overnight much like a light period. My abdomen is sore too and sometimes light pain. I have a scan at my hospital tomorrow morning. The only option is miscarriage right? Blood + pain must be miscarriage. Anyone else had this happen in second trimester?

Oh @Rainyshowers that sounds so tough! It's unfortunately how my miscarriage began at 19 weeks back in January (brown discharge then red bleeding). Blood in pregnancy doesn't always mean miscarriage though so don't give up hope - lots and lots of people on the pregnancy boards have reported bleeding even in the second trimester and gone on to have healthy babies. Sending you huge hugs and hoping that everything is fine at your scan tomorrow
