Will I definitely be offered a scan by EPAU

Hi ladies, hope you are well.
I would appreciate some advice. I started experiencing pinky brown spotting yesterday and again today. I am 8 weeks in. I spoke to EPAU today and they have booked me in for Wednesday, however I forgot to ask what it will involve. I have read that some women who have gone to EPAU have only been offered bloods for a suspected miscarriage - is that the case? If they won’t offer me a scan and I have to wait another 24 hrs for blood test results, then to be honest I’d rather just pay to have it done privately on Wednesday, I can’t stand the waiting and would rather just know Sad

You should be scanned at 8 weeks - my EPU see people from 5+ weeks but that early you wouldn't see anything on a scan so it's best to wait. Good luck and I hope you get positive news x

I would think they would scan you. I had spotting earlier in pregnancy and i was scanned twice , the second time because there was no heart beat at the first scan, it was too early, so I had another scan a week later.
I would be very suprised if they didn’t do a scan. Be prepared that it is an internal, not external scan.

Hi I'm sorry you're worrying but pinky brown spotting is normal at that gestation. No further advice, I think it could be fine x

Just to say as well I had a day of spotting at 8 weeks after some at 6 and 7 weeks and all was well with me X

I would be very surprised if they don't scan you, mine always has. Sometimes they do bloods as well.
