Is this ectopic?

Hi everyone, I haven't posted on here much so apologies if it's in the wrong place. Basically i'm depressed, confused and a bit desperate and was hoping for some advice. It's a long story but here goes...

When I found out I was pregnant I tested positive just 5 days after ovulation (and I know 100% when I ovulated). I was a few months pregnant when I had a routine scan and discovered there was no embryo in my womb. I had very high hormone levels, loads of symptoms and even had a bump so I had absolutely no reason to think anything was wrong. I went to the hospital to discuss inducing miscarriage and during their scan they found a lump on my left side in front of my ovary (they called it an adnexal complex mass). My gestational sac measured 7 weeks, which was coincidentally the size of the 'mass' they found.

I assumed that meant it was an ectopic pregnancy as everything fitted. However, the hospital didn't diagnose it as that, because I had a gestational sac in my womb. I've since read that there is such a thing as a pseudosac so it could have been ectopic.

They induced miscarriage and I passed everything that was in my womb (apart from some 'retained products' but they're not too worried about that). However the lump is still there. It's now been 7 weeks, i've had 4 ultrasound scans and they still can't work out what it is. I'm so confused as to me it sounds like the pregnancy was ectopic but stopped growing before it posed a risk to my health through fallopian tube rupture. The 'mass' is the remaining embryo tissue surely.

The hospital won't tell me anything, because i'm not in pain they have classed it as non-urgent and I will likely have to wait months for an MRI scan and probably even longer for whatever treatment they decide on. In the meantime I'm left with a dead embryo lodged in my fallopian tube. It's affecting my sleep and i'm anxious all the time. I would like to try to get pregnant again as i'm nearly 37 and it took 3 years to conceive this time. I'm also aware i'm likely to be more fertile after a miscarriage.

I've tried ringing every hospital department, my GP, I went to A&E, i've literally tried everything but no one seems bothered by this because there's no imminent risk to my health. I wish we could go private but we can't afford it. Has anyone experienced anything like this or know anything about this?

Gosh, that's awful!! I'm so sorry to hear
You are going through this! I had an ectopic back in October and they sorted it straight away via laparoscopic surgery. Have they given you any drugs such as methotrexate to see if it can be resolved without surgery, I know sometimes they just watch them to see what happens....if not I'd probably turn up at a&e faking pain to kick them into action...

Sorry can see you've already tried a&e, maybe try a different hospital!
