Recurrent miscarriages

Hello,
I’m new to this site but just wanted to share my experience and get others opinions/stories.
I have a happy, healthy 5 year old girl, no issues during my pregnancy.
I had an early miscarriage last Oct (around 4/5 weeks) this come away naturally.
We started TTC again in July of this year, I fell pregnant within the first month of trying, had a slight bit of brown discharge, went to the drs and referred for an early scan. Could see the sac but nothing else. This pregnancy ended in a D&C procedure. We were told that everything appeared healthy etc and fine to start TTC after first proper period. To my surprise I fell again straight away and by the time I reached 6/7 weeks I had the same brown discharge, very small amount. No blood, no cramping.
Again referred for a scan to be told the same thing yesterday. Sac but nothing inside. However my body still thinks it’s pregnant, apparently. My blood levels are very high and again no pain or cramping or blood. Think I will have to be admitted next week for another D&C.
I’m very confused and frustrated as to why this has now happened 3 times after such a successful first pregnancy.
Myself and my partner are 31, both healthy etc.
Anyone else have a similar story?
I’m so scared to even think about trying again, I feel like completely giving up with it all.
Thanks in advance 😊💖

Hi,

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this :( I'm going through a very similar thing right now, I've had 3 early mcs before my 3yo son, and I've just been diagnosed with my third mc after my son, so 6 in total :( this was a mmc and I'm having my d&c on Friday and I'm very nervous as I've always miscarried naturally.

I am starting to get bad cramps now so I think maybe it's starting? But no bleeding yet.

Are you having any specific testing done ?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply 💖 Very sorry to hear of your losses as well. It’s such an awful experience to have to go through.
I had my D&C yesterday and was discharged from hospital this afternoon.
I hope your procedure goes as well as it can. This is my second one and it isn’t a nice experience, I just don’t enjoy being in hospital but we chose this route again as I hated the thought of waiting around to miscarry naturally. I’ve found with the D&C I haven’t bled very much and it’s just coming round after the procedure that I struggled with, you tend to feel groggy and tired for a while, stomach can be slightly sore but keep up to date with painkillers.
Your first period after the D&C can be very heavy, after my last one my period arrived exactly 5 weeks later, it was very heavy for around 5 days and then just stopped.
All of the pregnancy tissue I had removed is being sent off for genetic/ chromosome testing in a lab. We’ll have results within 4 weeks, following that I will get referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic and have to have bloods etc. Not sure what specific testing they do.
Have you had any testing done yet?
💖
