I have a five year old daughter from a previous relationship. me and my husband have been trying for a baby for 3 years and within that time I've had four miscarriages. my doctors have said that I'm on the waiting list to be seen and tested. i found out yesterday that I'm pregnant and I'm dreading going through the same thing. I'm not sure whether to go and see a doctor or a midwife as I feel I may go through the same as before.

I'm sorry for your losses OP. I have a 6 year old son and I am currently experiencing my fourth miscarriage in 3 years. After my 3rd miscarriage in 2016 my GP referred me to the Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic at my local hospital. I met with a consultant who arranged for blood screening (to check for blood clotting disorders) and a scan (to check for structural anomalies, fibroids, etc). Results were normal and I was told to contact them as soon as I had a positive pregnancy test and they would arrange for an early scan. Is your GP aware that you are pregnant again and can s/he expedite your referral? Or could you contact your local EPAU? I would think that under the circumstances you're entitled to an early scan.
