Delayed Miscarriage from progesterone

Hi,
Has anyone had a miscarriage delayed because of extra progesterone they are taking? I take it twice a day and it was prescribed by my ivf clinic. At my 7 week scan I was told there is an empty sac and that I would get scanned again in two weeks at the early miscarriage unit (this friday). I was told to keep taking the progesterone till the scan and that after I stop it I will miscarry. I have no idea what to expect from it and I am quite literally feeling dead inside right now. Knowing my body may have wanted to miscarry naturally but hasn't been able to is really getting me down. I have no idea if I'll miscarry as if I was 7 weeks pregnant or will it be as if I am 9 weeks pregnant as I would be on Fridays scan.
Has anyone been through anything similar?

They probably want to be double sure that it is an empty sac. They don't want you to miscarry a viable embryo.

If you do miscarry, there is a good miscarriage thread somewhere on MN with tips. My tip would be to start taking ibuprofen when it starts, even if you feel that you don't need it yet. It works better when there is already some ibuprofen in your system. Just look up the dose, if for example it says maximum of three spaced out through the day, then take that.

7 weeks or 9 weeks doesn't matter that much. You'll be sad anyway, be nice to yourself. Get under a nice blanket, get a hot water bottle and watch your favourite series. You'll be okay.

One of my miscarriages was at 8.3.
