I'm 7 weeks along and this morning felt a gush of blood come from me. I went to the bathroom and passed a large piece of tissue or clot. It looks like a sac but I can't see a fetus inside but what looks like blood vesells running through. Sorry for tmi. I now just have brown spotting. I am scheduled for an emergency ultrasound tomorrow. Has anyone else experienced a miscarriage passing this quickly without pain?

No I haven't but my miscarriage started of very slow like spotting I've never heard of them being instant like that? Could it be maybe old bleeding or something and just a blood clot? I hope it goes okay for you sorry your going through this

Thank you for replying. I have had a miscarriage before but not anything like this. It was rather large (the size of my palm). Waiting until tomorrow is torture.

I’ve had this when I wasn’t pregnant and was told it was part of my lining shedding away. It looked terrifying. The fact that you’ve had little bleeding or pain before or since is hopeful. I really hope you get good news.

You can get something called a decidual cast where you shed a very large piece of tissue that’s basically a cast of your uterus. There’s a pic in this link if you want to compare (it’s not very pleasant, so warnings) - not sure if it’s possible to have this happen when pregnant or if a pregnancy could survive this, but if it was a smaller version of this I’d say there’s still hope (although I realise it might be totally different)

Just found this - apparently it can happen with ectopic pregnancies so it’s definitely good that you’re being scanned tomorrow

Thanks for sharing. It doesn't look like that. I also can rule out ectopic as I had a scan a week ago due to some light bleeding and everything looked fine at the time. I have a picture of what I passed but worried it may have been too graphic to post.

Was just wondering how you’re doing @Sarah821?

Sarah821 · 21/10/2018 09:51

Hi, everything was fine at the scan. They have no idea where the bleeding had come from. It's finally stopped now :)

Good news OP - you must be very relieved! Hope you're having a great weekend.

That’s fantastic news! I’m sure it must have been so scary. Must have been some womb lining!

Lovely news x
