Missed miscarriage

I have had two missed miscarriages in a year and am 5 weeks pregnant again, first one baby died at 8 weeks and miscarried st 12 weeks, second one had an emergency scan just before 12 week scan and baby was ok, had 12 week scan a few days later and baby died at 11 weeks. I have 3 children from a previous abusive marriage and now have married the love of my life, my husband hasn’t got any children and we are desperate for one of our own, the problem is I’m nearly 42 and times running out! Any older women out there with any adivice or in a similar situation? 😢

Hi, I'm so sorry for your losses, it's truly heartbreaking isn't it?

I'm not an older mum but have had 2 MMC consecutively then 2 successful pregnancies. I think I was 27 & 28 when they happened. I had already had 2 children without any problems whatsoever, conceived first month of trying as well so when the MMC happened I was totally blindsided and utterly heartbroken.

I too had early scans which showed a healthy baby at 9+3 then both babies died at around 10-11 weeks. They can't give you a reason really but I did lots and lots of googling and that's when the placenta takes over so I put it down to that.

I also had an undiagnosed bacterial infection and as soon as I finished antibiotics I conceived and had a successful pregnancy. The reason I found out is because I'd started the process of finding out what was wrong with me and the first stage was an STI and blood tests
