Im currently waiting at home for my body to miscarry naturally. The sac measured at five weeks and hadnt grown a week later so they confirmed its a miscarriage. The reason i had the early scan was due to light spotting which stopped after a few days. My question is when will it start, ive had no pain or bleeding & the scan was four days ago i kind of expected things to start pretty much straight away. Advice please? Anybody been in this situation. Should i wait or ask about the tablet to induce it? My last MC all happened at once, i wasnt waiting for it to begin. X

Hello lovely. I was in your position two weeks ago... I was told no heartbeat at 8 weeks however I was told to wait a week before the nhs would do anything. I miscarried naturally the night before my next appointment by which time I was over 9 weeks. No signs until this point. I started spotting a few days before and then woke in the night feeling wet and like my period had started. In all honestly I wasn't prepared for what happened but the best advice someone gave me was to once it started to stay near the toilet. The pain was manageable, I had ibuprofen and it was over in about 4 hours.

I started a thread on this board - waiting to miscarry - where some other ladies gave me advice and shared their stories, which you might want to read. There are many options and you don't have to do things naturally, just whatever feels right for you.

It's a horrible time and the waiting and uncertainty makes it worse. Can't say it gets any better afterwards as I'm still devastated, but you will survive.

Sending you love and strength xxxx

Thank you for the reply, the waiting game is awful. Id rather do it naturally (did before) instead of hospitals & medication. Was just assuming it would of started by now. Sorry for your loss, such a heartbreaking time. Xxx

With my MMC I started bleeding very lightly around week 8 and it was on and off for a couple of weeks before getting a bit heavier which is when I got a scan. They estimated it stopped growing pretty early on, probably some time before 8 weeks. I booked in for medical management but it ended up happening naturally before my appointment. So I think it is possible that it might take a while for it to start, although in my case I didn’t find out until later on.

Thank you for the reply and sorry for your loss. I think im going to phone the hospital on Monday to see about Medical Management if nothing happens before then. Its such a horrible time the waiting doesnt help neither. X
