I had my tube removed last week and my consultant said it shouldn't affect my fertility

I did have a tube removed and babys due date was the anniversary of my surgery. She's now 8 months old Smile have hope Flowers

Something that was explained to me was that the tubes and ovaries are so close together that eggs from one ovary can be picked up by the tube on the other side so even if you just have one tube then an egg from the ovary that was nearest to it can go down the other tube.

Hi I have just had an ectopic pregnancy. Also no tube removed I was expectantly managed. I am waiting on my first period to start trying again. There are a lot of ectopic support groups on FB where people have conceived really soon after ectopic! Fingers crossed!

Jay92 · 13/08/2018 09:13

You will have to keep me updated. Did they advise you to wait any time?

Yes let me know how you get on i could do with speaking with someone in the same boat. Did you have the injection? She said i could start trying again once I have my first proper preiod. Im a bit nervous to try again but just going to go for it and hope for the best!

Jay92 · 13/08/2018 11:27

Of course. We can keep each other updated. Mine was in April. No I didn't need it. Did you? Hoping to try again soon. Have you any kids?

No i didn't either which im grateful for! I do have a little girl who has just turned 4. Have you? Went for a run for the 1st time since the ectopic earlier and got some cramping so had to stop which was a bit worrying. Have you had a period since? Was it worse than usual?

Jay92 · 13/08/2018 21:38

Awww that is nice. I am 26 and dying for a baby.
Yes was definitely heavier. I wouldn't usually get bad pains but yes was worse. I have had a few periods since, planning to try again in September. Did they give you any advice ?

I had a miscarriage, followed by a ruptured ectopic, tube and large ovarian cyst removed, I went on to have two healthy children shortly after.

Bezm · 13/08/2018 21:50

My sister had one baby, then an eptopic pregnancy, then another baby then a miscarriage with a baby that had Edwards syndrome, then went on to have 3 more babies. All boys.
She wa told when she was a teenager that she may well be infrertile as she had a very severe pelvic infection.

They didnt give me any advice reallly. Im sure I have endometriosis though so going to go to the doctors and ask about that i have also had a c section so they are both risk factors for ectopic but she said the chance of another is only 10% so just hoping for the best! Were you advised to wait 3 months after the ectopic? How were you treated?

Jay92 · 14/08/2018 13:57

What makes you think it is?
No was advised to wait a few months.
I didn't need any treatment , which my gp hadn't heard off!!

I did! Ectopic in 2004, treated with methotrexate, then dd1 in 2005 and dd2 in 2006. No problems getting pregnant after the ectopic, in fact dd2 was an oops! I always tell her she was the best mistake I ever made!

Thanks for reply whydidyoucallmethat.
Hoping to try again soon. X
