I had a miscarriage last week, we went to EPU and i had a scan, nothing could be seen inside or outside the womb. They did a pregnancy test which was still poss.

I had blood taken to check hCG levels and should of went back Sun and Tues for more blood tests but i could not face it.

All pain has gone and bleeding has stopped, i did a pregnancy test last night and now only a very very faint poss line is showing.

Is it normal to have these tests?

Firstly, I am so sorry for the loss of your baby. The reason that they need to keep taking bloods is to make sure that there isn't an ectopic pregnancy elsewhere that they have missed. If your HCG levels keep on rising then this is an indicator. It sounds like you may be ok. If you get any sort of pain then it would be a good idea to get checked.

mostlyalurker is right, the hospital is doiing right by you, you should get your hcgs done so they can rule out an ectopic. i'm so sorry to hear that you have lost thsi wee pregnancy... keep safe, though.

I didnt have bloods taken after mine, but had to return for a scan after 2 weeks to check everything was gone. My mc was nearly 3 weeks ago and i stilll have the faintest line on tests. But this is fairly normal. Im really sorry to hear about your loss, the message boards here are really helpful and every ones very supportive x

You must go back for the blood tests. I had a scan and saw 2 babies, 1 def and 1 potential after a mc. The levels were showing an ectopic but the scan wasn't. I went home and a couple of days later the consultant rang me at home and asked me to come in. I took a test which was negative and then was booked for a D and C as they couldn't work out what was wrong. THANK GOODNESS for the lady who needed a c-section as the doctor was too late to do the D&C. I had another blood test the next day, happy to let me go, 9 months later gorgeous baby Luke was born. . I had had a mc and then conceived twins but lost one.

I JUST FOUND OUT I AM FOUR WEEKS PREGNANT. I MISCARRIED TWICE AND HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR A YEAR. STARTING TO FEEL SOME OF THE SAME SENSATIONS FROM MY MISCARRIGAGES. THE HCG AND PROGESTERONE LEVELS ARE LOW BUT THAT COULD BE BECAUSE IT IS EARLY IN THE PREGNANCY. I'M REALLY SCARED AND ANXIOUS. I HAVE TO GO BACK ON MONDAY TO TEST THE LEVELS AGAIN. HOPING FOR THE BEST.
