I've had 4 miscarriages. I've had pretty much all the tests (!). No answers!
I am pregnant again, just a few weeks after my latest miscarriage and I am spotting... The implantation bleed was a proper bleed... Not pink, but a gush of bright red then nothing. Spotting came a few days later (brown).
I am convinced that there's something 'hormonal' going on that's causing these miscarriages... I am 32, so quite young; in good health; my husband had a sperm check and the results were great so we know it's not him. I've not got any of the clotting problems (e.g. antiphospholipid syndrome), nor any problems with the uterus shape.
What I HAVE had is random spotting and sporadic bleeds over the past couple of years. My miscarriages have all happened within the last 18 months (first at 11 weeks, then 6 weeks, 9 weeks, and 5 weeks).
I simply can't believe I've just had a 'run of bad luck', as it really isn't all that common to have recurrent miscarriages at my age and it usually suggests a problem.
I would love to know whether any of you know of any people who have actually been put on medication or hormone treatment for this type of scenario.
My GP refuses to explore and just says 'wait and see'. The EPU says the same and their gynae consultant does not see people at this stage in the game. In fact, when I went to her Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic, her registrar said there was nothing the NHS could do for me so we just had to keep trying.
Any ideas? I'm at my wits end. I am so fed up of falling pregnant (constantly!) only to lose it. It's breaking my heart each time as I feel there is no one who can help yet there may be some answers.
I know for sure that my progesterone levels are often quite low (through previous blood tests) but also that the recent study on progesterone supplements ruled out any benefit to miscarrying women.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just despairing a bit...! Thanks x
