Hi I just wanted some help really. I found out I was pregnant a week ago today and was so happy. I was married for over 10 years and we couldn’t conceive. Started trying with my fella in March this year and found I fell pregnant pretty quickly and that I was 5 weeks pregnant. I took 5 tests all positive results. Then on Sunday I woke up my breasts no longer hurt and a few hours later I started spotting brown stuff. So phoned out of hours who said I should go s and e to be checked out. The urine sample came back negative but my blood results showed I was preganabg but that it’s failing. She said I’d experience bleeding and eventually it would turn into a heavy period and that I’m to do a home test in 2 weeks and if it’s positive then to call gynecology unit. I have bled since then but it’s now easing up. I’m devastated and have no one to talk to. I didn’t find the nhs to be helpful at all. I don’t know what to expect. Just wondered if anyone could give me some advice on what to expect and if I need to do anything else. Thanks in advance claire

I’m sorry this has happened to you. There isn’t one pattern for what will happen - you might bleed on and off for longer than a period, or it might be heavier and quicker. Emotionally you will also be affected by all the changes in hormones.
Take time to yourself and don’t rush your feelings. It is hard.
