Hi all,
I had to have LLETZ for CIN3 about 4 years ago and I have had 2 miscarriages since Jan '18. I cant help but think there may be a link? They are my 1st and 2nd pregnancies and I'm 31.

Has anyone else had a similar story? Also I'm due a smear but had surgical management and unsure how long I have to wait?

Hello I didn’t want to read and run. I hope things look up for you soon. It’s worth asking the gynae that performed the surgery?

Hi Mabelmay, what gestation were your miscarriages? I think if you have had several LLETZ procedures there is an increased risk of cervical incompetence which can cause second trimester miscarriage, but I don’t think there is an increased chance of early pregnancy loss. And probably if you’ve just had one LLETZ you don’t need to worry anyway.

I’m in the same boat as you having had my first two pregnancies end in miscarriage. Hope we both have better luck in the future!

Hi Viduvu,

My first pregnancy was anembrionic and my second stopped developing at about 8.5weeks so both were early.
I'm so sorry that you have also experienced 2 miscarriages and I wish us both a successful 3rd pregnancy. If it is just bad luck It's strange how some women seem to statistically get all the bad luck where others get none. I just can't help but think there's more to it than bad luck but just don't think there's enough research out there to prove anything...
