About 4 weeks ago I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks, I had a blood test and they said my hcg levels were at 29 and I had been bleeding for 8 days and clotting, I never went back for a second blood test as I just thought that was it for me, today now I took a test just to be sure and I had strong positive on a clear blue, I’m so confused could I have not misscarried ? Is a it a new pregnancy, I have to wait a week to have a scan should I book a private one to put my mind at rest????

This is the test I took as you can see strong positive and it’s been 4 weeks since

I would book a private scan, someone I know managed to book a next day scan.
I'd say its worth it to stop the week of uncertainty.

Could you have been pregnant with twins? I don't know if it is a thing- just wondered?

I could have been I’m not sure, my misscarriage was never confirmed but they said my hcg was at 29 and it was low, the doctor said at that point a pregnancy test wouldn’t come back positive, and it’s been 3 weeks since and it’s a strong positive Sureley at this point the line wouldn’t be that strong in so confused, I have a private scan booked for tomorrow morning

Good luck tomorrow, OP.

What do you all think?? I’m rather confused as the doctor said my hcg was so low I wouldn’t get a positive on a test and now it’s been 3 weeks and I have a strong line seems rather strange considering my other tests I did when I found out I was pregnant were very faint

www.babymed.com/normal-hcg-blood-level-by-week-during-pregnancy that might be interesting for you to have a look at.

It says 19 is the lower limit at 5 weeks, and the upper limit is in the thousands so seems to be a very wide range.
Some urine tests detect from 10, so I would think 29 would give a positive though faint which would fit.

But equally you could have ovulated 2 weeks after a miscarriage and now be around 4 weeks.

The test is a strong positive though so I would be very confident in your position that it's not left over hormones after a miscarriage and that you are pregnant, though it's impossible to tell how many weeks until you have a scan.

I hope everything turns out well. Flowers

Well there was no 8 week baby on the scan they couldn’t find anything, very bizzare they said it could be a new pregnancy but who knows
