Why is it still positive?

So I’ve posted my story on here before but in a nutshell:
Had mmc identified at scan, had medical management 10 days later and then required surgical management a couple of weeks after that.
Anyway, it’s now 2 weeks since the smm and bleeding stopped a few days ago. Today I did a pregnancy test just for peace of mind before ttc again and got a strong positive.
So what now? Do I wait another week and test again? With bh weekend I’m not likely to be able to speak to Epu until tues. This feels like it’s been going on forever and I’m so worried about time passing and still not having my baby.

Sorry for what you're going through. I've had a similar story; two failed medicals followed by surgical management. It seems to just have gone on forever.

I didn't get a negative pregnancy test until 4 weeks after the surgery. EPU were going to scan because I was testing positive at home after 3 and a half weeks, but when I went in the test they did was finally showing negative.

It can take time for the HCG to leave your system. If you're not in any pain or bleeding anymore then I would just leave it another week and test again then. If it's still showing positive then I would contact EPU. (If you're experiencing any pain then contact them sooner).

It's so frustrating when you want to be able to look forwards and try again, but try to relax and rest and let your body heal so it's in the best shape possible for trying again. You'll get there. xxx

Thank you KnitKitty - I'm sorry to hear you've also been through all this xxx
I will test again in a week and see what happens - it makes sense that it takes time for everything to return to normal and I suppose 2 weeks is still early days- but seeing those two lines caught me by surprise. Never thought I'd be upset to see a positive test!

Hi i had surgical management three weeks ago and was told not to test until 3 weeks had passed. It was negative when i did test.
You may feel back to normal but those hormones can linger... hopefully next week will show negative xx

Thanks you - that's reassuring. The hospital didn't advise me to test at all, it was my Mum - a hcp - who suggested I should.
I'll give it another week xx
