Where is my period? 7 weeks after ERPC

I was wondering how long it took for your periods to return after an EPRC?

I am now on week 7 and nothing yet. Getting frustrated as I feel terrible and my skin is breaking out which it's hasn't done since I was a teenager.

Should I be going to the doctors? Any reassurance would be lovely (neg PG test today so that's not the reason unfortunately)

My first negative pregnancy test post ERPC was 4 weeks after the surgery. The doctor I saw that day told me not to be surprised if I don't have a period for another 4 weeks after that (which would make it a total of 8 weeks since ERPC).

If it took a long time for your HCG levels to go back down your body may be taking some time to get going again. If it doesn't turn up this week I would ring the EPU to get some reassurance to be on the safe side.

I hope AF visits you soon.

P.S. I'm not generally a spotty person, but I've been getting break-outs too. I think it's just a sign of fluctuating hormones.

Thanks @KnitKitty

My hcg levels fell really quickly I think and it took less than 2 weeks to get a negative pregnancy test so this is what is most puzzling. I think I'll leave it another week then call as you suggest

So sorry to hear you're going through this too, it's like living in limbo waiting for the first period.

Hopefully our hormones stop fluctuating ASAP and clear these bloody spots up!

Oh I just noticed this post. I literally just posted the exact same question. 7 weeks past surgery and no period and no sign of it.
I haven't had any breakouts but I have had other strange things such as lack of climaxing (Sorry if tmi) which I've never had a problem until I had the surgery.
It's such a worry during this time and my first thought is infertililty etc. I went to the gynae unit 2 weeks ago and they told me to come back at 8 weeks if no period had shown yet.

Really hope you get your period soon. Please update us and let us know when it comes.

Hi @Sunshineworshipper sorry to hear you're in the same boat. My period finally came after 8 weeks and I told myself the cut off before going to the doctors would be 9 weeks so glad it finally arrived. I was surprised it took so long for me as my post ERPC bleeding was really light and stopped quickly. How are you feeling?

@trippingoverrainbows thank you for your response. I'm sorry you had to go through this too. I am feeling all over the place. The grief just won't go away. Was your experience okay or was it full of blips and incompetence too?
I'm glad yours came back at 8 weeks. I'm hoping that's what will happen. I hope you don't mind me asking but did you have issues with sex/climaxing too?
How are you feeling?

trippingoverrainbows · 07/05/2018 20:59

The grief is harder to deal with than I thought. The procedure itself was drama free but the emotional recovery definitely takes much longer. I went back to work (v stressful job) and ended up in tears one day as I felt I couldn't operate as normal. I'm feeling better now and the period coming definitely helped as it felt like I was finally moving on, hopefully it will be the same for you 💕
Everything sex related was mostly normal but felt a bit more tender than normal
