Hi so I'm 5 weeks pregnant and this morning I woke up and went to the toilet and there was quite a bit of blood on the tissue and in the toilet not sure how much it was as it was in the water so couldn't tell I have also had worse mild cramps which I have usually had while pregnant, their still mild but worse, in the night I didn't get any blood on my pjs or on the bed it's just when I wiped, so couldn't have been that heavy. I have been spotting blood through out the day but it's not heavy just bits here and there, but still cramps. Went to the hospital and they said it could be a misscarriage but it's common for some women to bleed during pregnancy, and they said it was too early for a scan, had anyone experienced this as this is my first pregnancy and it's worrying me.

How are you feeling now Katiej? It’s really hard to tell wether you are or not initially because you can bleed during pregnancy and it be perfectly normal. I had a miscarriage many years ago and from what I can remember it started off with light bleeding and mild cramps and then just progressed throughout the day, cramps getting worse and heavier bleeding until it eventually passed in the evening. I like you went to the hospital and they gave me an internal scan, at that time everything was as it should be but no heart beat yet as I was only around 4-5 weeks pregnant. Maybe this is why they didn’t scan early because they probably wouldn’t be able to tell you if you was miscarriaging for sure anyway.
It’s a waiting game and very worrying not knowing. Hope you’re ok xx
