Vitamin D

I've had some tests done for recurrent miscarriage, so far everything has come back normal apart from that I have low vitamin D levels. I haven't spoken to my consultant since getting the test results I've just been told to take 2000mg a day. Serum levels were 31. From googling it looks like there could be a link between low vitamin D and pregnancy loss- does anyone else know anything about this? Thank you.

I don’t know anything about testing for fertility problems etc but I have done a lot of research into vitamin D and other ones whilst trying to conceive and I don’t think vitamin D has anything to do with pregnancy loss. But I could be wrong. Vitamin D is meant to be more for ensuring healthy bones etc for an unborn baby. It’s essential for both baby and Mum to have enough vitamin D.

I’ve just done some more googling on it and found something about research suggesting it could be a possibility but it hasn’t been confirmed.
It looks like Vit D is also good for preventing preeclampsia etc so it could well have an effect.
There’s no harm in taking it and seeing.
