We were excited to find out that we were pregnant back in January. My dates suggested we were 8 weeks (I was surprised as we'd tested negative the week previous). 2 weeks later, I'm bleeding and a scan showed the baby was around 6 weeks but there was no heartbeat. My cycles are a mess and they said it could be my dates are wrong and it could just be too early for a detectable heartbeat. Go back in 2 weeks.
Longest 2 weeks of my life.
Baby hadn't grown and still no heartbeat. Our baby had died before we even knew we were pregnant.
A week later I go in for the surgical procedure.
Now 4.5 weeks later, I'm still bleeding, cramping and testing positive on pregnancy tests.
I've had a follow up scan and thankfully there are no tissues left behind. I have had 2 infections.
Has anyone else experienced this? Everything I've read has said that the bleeding should last a few days and maybe up to 2 weeks. This is getting silly. I've got to return to the hospital again if things are still the same on Monday.
I just want this to finally be over. I can't get closure and actually process this all properly whilst it's still all going on. I know there's no baby anymore, but this miscarriage is still very much happening.
