Can someone explain what the benefits are meant to be please? I had a MC in January and want to do all I can so this doesn't happen again. Do you take it whilst ttc or just once pregnant/how much how long for? Does anyone take it or have any experiences or opinions of any other supplements or medicines which could help. Thanks xx

I had a mc at 12 weeks.
With my next pregnancy I decided to take 75mg aspirin based on info I'd read online and from reading other peoples experiences. Aspirin thins the blood which is helpful for women with sticky blood syndrome - my GP wouldn't test me for this which is why I took matters in to my own hands.
Some women take it after 12 weeks if they have a high BMI but this is often recommended to them / prescribed and is a totally separate issue.

It took it as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I then stopped taking it at 24 weeks although I know some people continue taking it further along. I'm now 33 weeks pregnant, but I've no idea if the aspirin helped or not.

From what I read, there is minimal risk, so to me it was a no brainer. I wanted to do everything possible to try and prevent mc so didn't hesitate taking it.
However, I know that research is limited in this area, and (as I've mentioned before on previous posts) my consultant was quite abrupt when I told him I was taking it. He reminded me that everything has a risk and in his opinion he didn't think aspirin would help me. Not really what I wanted to hear and he also did quizzed me on my research which wasn't very pleasant Confused

Good luck with whatever you decided to do x

Not sure if this makes any difference to you but i was prescribed asprin 75mg from 4 weeks as soon as I got my BFP due to pre-eclampsia in my previous pregnancy. I still mc'd at 10+4 weeks.

So sorry to hear that @funkiemzie! Yes it does thankyou I want experiences on it. Don't think I'll just chuck myself on it then suppose whatever is going to happen will happen regardless! Xx

I suppose it will, however, I had a medical reason for taking it. By the sounds of it, I don't think there would be any massive issue with taking it if it wasn't prescribed though. Good luck with your BFP. X
