Emergency Scans?

Why do emergency scans take so long? Went up to A&E at the hospital I'm having my baby with yesterday as advised by early pregnancy unit, its a small hospital and the reason to go to A&E and not EPU is because they had no available appointments. Started bleeding like a normal period yesterday Morning, still bleeding now, worse today, clots and dark red blood but only when I wipe, got back ache and lower tummy ache too. I'm under no illusion of what it is but why have I got to wait until Tuesday morning (thats the earliest appointment) for confirmation? Feeling totally lost and feel like I need to know 100% now. Any advice would be appreciated, I'm in the Midlands, UK.

Unfortunately because they can't do anything for you, there isn't a real urgency to do a scan. It's more for confirmation. I'm sorry you're going through this. I have been there and it's awful. Look after yourself.

Thank you. I know this is a strange thing to say but I don't actually feel pregnant. I've had zero symptoms apart from very strong HPT's, no morning sickness, no achy boobs, nothing like my first. I thought it was strange but just took it that I was lucky 😢 I just need closure now as this just feels like a normal period for me.

No symptoms isn't always an indicator that something is wrong, but sometimes you just know something isn't quiet right! Hope you're resting and take time to yourself if you need it.

My DP has been brilliant, loads of hugs and kind words. He has taken DD out today to let me rest. She's 10 but didn't know yet, we had our 12 week scan in a couple of weeks, got her a t-shirt and everything. Glad she didnt know, she would be more gutted than us. I know it's not been a confirmed MC but this amount of symptoms is not looking favourable. I'm normally a total optimist but I'm preparing for this worst and this is just shit. 😞

Also, I know this is probably a silly question but I don't feel like facing anyone at the moment so work seems a horrible thought on Monday. Would this go on my sickness record or pregnancy related? Only my boss knows at work.

I bleed through my first pregnancy up to about 5 months. Was always having emergency scans. They couldn’t get to the bottom of my bleeding. It was a very worrying time. So it isn’t all bad news. Good luck on Tuesday xx

Mines was red blood too when I wiped. Same symptoms

If you're off it goes on pregnancy related sickness and does not count on your sickness record. I would take Monday off for sure.

I miscarried at 10 weeks and went back to work the day after it was confirmed.
It was far too soon and I was an emotional wreck but noon. And got sent home.
If you have sadly lost your baby, make sure you take time to get you well again. There is no rush back to work.
I am sending my best wishes to you and dp. Flowers

Thank you everyone for your kind works. We'll find out for certain on Tuesday. Xxx
