Period after misscaridge

Hi :) so I had the horrible experience of going to the first 12 week scan thinking everything was normal to be told they couldn't find a heart beat and baby was measuring at 8 weeks :( booked in for d&c but started to bleed a couple days before so they rescanned me and said everything was clear...so a month on now iv got my normal period it feels like I’m going through it all over the pain, blood clots, tiredness I’m having to change every 10mins. So I’m Just wondering is it normal for first one to be like this? X

Hi - yes, unfortunately the first period after miscarriage tends to be really heavy but after that your cycle is likely to get back to normal. Do keep an eye out for truly excessive bleeding in the medical sense, but generally - yes, it's really grim and upsetting but quite typical.

So sorry to hear about your loss :( my first period was also horrible and painful. Things should settle down the month after xx
