Early Miscarriage

Hi All

This is my first time posting on here. I found out I was pregnant last Thursday (9th September). Thursday just gone (14th) I had spotting to begin with and went to the doctors who sent me for an emergency scan on the Friday. I believed I was 7+2 but wasn't sure as my periods are irregular and never know when I ovulated. Spotting turned into bleeding and I have now been bleeding since Thursday night. I have passed one blueberry sized clots and lots of tiny ones. When I went to the scan on Friday the sonographer said that I was more like less than five weeks which might be correct because of my period. No heartbeat was seen or embryo as they said its too early. I have to go back next Friday to be re scanned to see if it has grown or if anything is still there. I have been having mild period like pain which comes and goes. I wanted to know if I am having a miscarriage which seems more likely or not how long it may last and if the cramps will get worse? This is now day three of bleeding, I have just started a new job and have to go back on Monday.

I had an early miscarriage at around 6 weeks. For me the pain was really bad (but I did used to have very painful periods too so it may align with that).

Thanks. I'm ok just kinda want it to be done now and move on. Feels a bit like an emotional rollercoaster the last four days.

I know what you mean. I was devastated but we got pregnant the following month (which was our daughter who is now 2.5 years old) so don't despair. Everyone told me "at least your body knows how to get pregnant" which didn't help at the time but has a ring of truth to it.

I have a 20 month daughter already so people keep saying well you've already had one successful pregnancy which doesn't help when you're in the throes of a miscarriage.

Certainly. It doesn't matter if it's your first or fifth - it still hurts so badly.

Sounds very similar to what happened to me
Also had a 20month old at the time!
The actual miscarriage happened about 10 days after the spotting started but by that point was more like a period
Don't know how far along I was but guessing by what passed I was about 10 weeks..
I didn't get any medical attention but really really wish I had! If it ever happens again I would go for a d&c

I have a lovely husband who has been looking after my daughter while I rest. They have basically said because I was less than five weeks it would be like a period and only go to hospital if I soak through two pads in an hour which I'm not at the mo.

Hi, I had a miscarriage over the weekend. Cramps were unbelievably painful and bleeding was heavy. Had a blood test in hospital over the weekend who said my hormone level had dropped to 9, most likely meaning I'd lost the baby. It's absolutely heartbreaking, and it's a lot for you to go through both physically and emotionally. It's so unfortunate that you have to go to work also, I found it helped with a few days off to process everything so go at a pace that is okay for you. Hope you are well and wish you all the best

I've found being at work has stopped me thinking so much about it. I do feel sad though and I'm a teacher and the children have helped cheer me up. I haven't had any bloods done by the hospital but just a rescan on Friday. So sorry to hear you're going through the same thing x
