Speeding things along

Hi I found out last week that baby's heart beat had stopped beating at 8+3 days I should of been 10 weeks .
This is my second miscarriage but the first just happened on it own with no prewarning . I've had nothing with this one tho .
Is there anything I can do to speed things along kinda thing . I just want this over with
I'm back at the hospital on Friday for a check up but didn't want to go down the medical management route

I've just had a MMC, baby stopped growing at 7 weeks. At 13 weeks still nothing had happened naturally. I took medical management drugs and honestly it hasn't been that bad. From what I've been told a 'natural' miscarriage sounds a lot worse. I then had a scan to check all was ok and there was nothing retained.
I don't know if you can do anything to encourage the products of conception to come out though. I just wanted to be in control of when it was going to happen and for it to happen soon after I found out. The medical management option worked well for me.

Sorry for your loss Betty. I had a similar MMC - heartbeat stopped at 8 weeks, wasn't discovered until I had a scan due to spotting at 10 weeks. My advice would be to NOT go through it at home - get the hospital to book you for surgery or drugs so you can do it in a medically managed way. It's not small at this point - sorry to be blunt. I had a horrific time of it (passed it naturally at home) and was in and out of A&E for 3 days. Sending you a big hug.

Thank you for your replies . I've been to the hospital this morning and back in tomorrow for the first set of tablets . Just been reading horror stories and think I've scared myself . Is there anything I should be prepared for ? Or anything in particular I should take

It wasn't so much painful for me just like a bad period pains but I got very weak and dizzy from the blood loss. You may feel contractions as the main part happens (be prepared to sit on the loo for as long as you need to) but it often doesn't happen all in one go. If you are filling a sanitary towel more often than hourly go to A&E. I'm sorry, it's properly shit. I hope it happens quickly for you. Plain food, sugar and lots of rest. You'll be out of action for at least a week afterwards - not bed ridden but I was exhausted.

I was given anti sickness meds and co-codamol, which I did need. I was totally wiped out (in bed) for 2 days but felt better by the 3rd day. I'd say you need a good week to recover, 2 for full recovery. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids and have someone there to bring you food and cuddles. It's emotionally draining as well as physically. But once it's over it's over and you know it's done. Also make sure you've got thick maxi pads and lots of loo roll.
It's shit, my emotions were all over the place. You're still hormonal as well as dealing with an incredibly sad experience. All the best xx
